Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The following benefits will be available on an annual basis: University System of Maryland Tuition Remission program.Five (5) days of annual leaveSpecific HolidaysThree (3) days of sick leaveMay participate in the State Health Insurance programs (medical, prescription and/or dental, etc.) that are available to State employees. Staff working 30 hours or more per week are eligible for the applicable state subsidy for medical and prescription coverage.Responsibilities: Under the direction of an Assistant Director of Admissions, the Admissions Counselor is responsible for providing information regarding admissions standards and requirements for prospective students. Work directly with prospective students through the admissions, financial aid, scholarship, and application process. Implement recruitment activities such as campus trips, presentations, Saturday visits, virtual events, resource tables, application workshops, and designated area projects. Frequent travel to high schools and two-year colleges with some overnight travel required. Other duties as needed to assist with student enrollment.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with one to three years of related experience. The successful candidate will have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with a proven ability to interact effectively and promote a culturally diverse prospective student population. Valid non-commercial driver’s license and a desire to travel required. Ability to work nights and weekends as needed to assist with student enrollment.
