Position Summary
Fripp Island Golf Club & Resort is seeking a dependable Dishwasher / Steward to support clean, safe, and efficient culinary operations. This role is responsible for dishwashing, pots and pans, trash, floors, drains, chemical handling, equipment cleaning, restocking, receiving support, and general kitchen sanitation across resort outlets and events.
Wash, sanitize, inspect, and properly store dishes, utensils, cookware, containers, and smallwares.
Responsibilities
Clean pots, pans, racks, tools, and approved equipment components.
Maintain dish areas, floors, drains, sinks, walls, mats, carts, trash areas, and shared kitchen spaces.
Remove trash, cardboard, recycling, and other waste safely and on schedule.
Use cleaning chemicals and protective equipment according to approved safety procedures.
Restock clean items, chemicals, towels, liners, and sanitation supplies.
Support receiving, storage, event setup, breakdown, and general kitchen operations when assigned.
Report equipment problems, chemical concerns, breakage, pests, leaks, and unsafe conditions promptly.
Assist with basic food preparation only after training and specific assignment.
Perform other reasonable duties related to the position, training, and operational needs.
Qualifications
Previous dishwashing, stewarding, restaurant, housekeeping, or sanitation experience is preferred but not required.
Ability to work safely, quickly, and reliably in a busy kitchen environment.
Ability to follow chemical, sanitation, safety, and equipment instructions.
Strong attendance, teamwork, organization, and willingness to support changing priorities.
Food-handler certification is not required unless assigned food-handling duties or cross-trained into food production.
No degree requirement and no fixed minimum number of years.
Schedule Expectations
Hourly, non-exempt position; full-time, part-time, or seasonal schedules may be available based on assignment.
Availability may include mornings, evenings, late nights, weekends, holidays, peak seasonal periods, and special events.
Schedule and outlet assignment may change based on business needs.
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, grasping, scrubbing, and repetitive motion.
Ability to work safely in hot, cold, wet, humid, noisy, and fast-paced dish and kitchen environments.
Ability to lift and move customary dish racks, cookware, trash, supplies, chemicals, and equipment safely, with assistance when appropriate.
Regular exposure to water, steam, detergents, sanitizers, food waste, and slippery surfaces.

Advancement Opportunity
Dishwashers / Stewards who demonstrate exceptional reliability, sanitation discipline, teamwork, and aptitude may be trained and considered for advancement to Prep Cook as opportunities become available.
